Community and connection are the roots of Boon Boona, growing and weaving through every pour, every shared story. This foundation begins beyond our doorsāwith the farmers who cultivate the soils to sustain each crop. Through their partnership and expert guidance, we can bring to you the (sweet berry and cacao)flavors of the Ethiopian landscape. Ethiopian coffee has been a long-time staple of Boon Boona, and this season, we are reconnecting to our community roots to make it accessible year round. We are excited to launch Mahiber, meaning ācommunityā in Amharic and Tigrinya, which will rotate community lot farmers to showcase the complexity of berries and chocolate across the region.Ā
In a time of climate and trade volatility, our partnerships are a commitment to sustainable land and community development. Community farms utilize shade grown techniques and traditional drying methods to develop crisp, juicy flavors while also supporting land sustainability. In addition to soil- conscious methods, our partners focus on community development through farmer education (Sookoo Coffee- Ture Waji) and training support initiatives (Daye Bensa). Our Seattle coffee community would not be possible without the craft and expertise of farmers. So, we invite you to slow down with a cup of Mahiber coffee.Ā
From our Mahiber to yours.
