Our business began in 2012 when Efrem Fesaha sourced and distributed Ethiopian green coffee beans from around the country. We expanded into roasted Ethiopian and Rwandan coffee in 2016. We opened our brick and mortar coffee shop in downtown Renton in 2019 where we roast and offer a cafe experience.
Our mission is to develop long lasting relationships with coffee farmers in many African nations and to support the sustainable production of their crops. Boon Boona Coffee is the bridge between African specialty coffee and the world.

Our great neighbors across the street Seattle University provide a lively space for students, and faculty to gather. The large windows, outdoor patio seating with a view to 12th Ave Square Park and a large community table with privacy sliding door. The atmosphere is welcoming for a little quiet time to work privately, or gather under the beautiful mural by Perri Rhoden.

This beautiful cafe was brought to life by our friends and Architects at La Union Studio, and what would a Boon Boona Cafe be without another one of a kind mural from Yeggy Michael.
As we move to north Seattle our cafe offers the same great experience you would find in Cap Hill or our Renton home - freshly roasted bags of retail coffee, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and pour overs all while providing an oasis while on the Ave or break from classes at UW. We have also ventured deeper into wine and beer from local partners - Metier Brewing, Hellbent, Holy Mtn, and Fast Fashion to name a few. We look forward to having an espresso and a glass a wine together here!
